During their regular meeting on December 13, 2023, the Board of Selectmen approved a final Dighton Economic Development Plan, which was drafted and completed through a state grant-funded partnership between Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District and the Dighton Development & Industrial Commission over the last year-and-a-half. 

The planning efforts were informed by included a variety of public meetings, resident feedback through public outreach events like the Arts Festival and the Firecracker Festival, and the launch of a survey which included engagement from 140 residents and participants. 

Our new Economic Development Plan, which can be found here, highlights a variety of initiatives already underway to streamline town permitting processes and provides a pathway to create targeted, measured, and sustainable development to help guide the Dighton community further into the future. 

Efforts to implement Plan recommendations will rely on the engagement and support of our entire community, and we're excited to continue these efforts forward!
