Dighton's Green Projects Status
In December of 2018, the Town of Dighton was awarded $143,636 in Green Communities Designation funds, officially begining our status as a Green Community. The four projects we selected for energy reduction measures include installing LED lighting, installing Electric Vehicle charging stations, instituting various building weatherization measures and installing wi-fi thermostats.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
On March 9, 2020, two charging stations became available for public use. One is located outside of Old Town Hall, 1111 Somerset Avenue; the other is located behind Town Hall, 979 Somerset Avenue. The stations are powered by Chargepoint. Additionally, you can charge up at a lower electric rate as the Town has participated in municipal aggregation programs to lower municipal energy bills.
