Office Manager - Zoning Board of Appeals
The Town of Dighton is seeking qualified applicants to serve as Office Manager to the 5-member Zoning Board of Appeals. The Office Manager shall work 20 hours to assist in administrative duties, record keeping, and coordinating meetings. Duties also include posting meeting agendas, taking minutes, and interacting with the public seeking variances. Organization and customer skills are integral to the success of this position. Applicants must have thorough knowledge of all applications of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially word, and must be detail oriented. Accuracy is a must. Must have a firm understanding of Town Zoning Bylaws and the Comprehensive Permit Process, knowledge of 40B regulations, and the ability to work independently. Evening meetings are required. High school diploma or GED is required as is at least two years of office and clerical experience. College experience is preferred. The Town of Dighton has an immediate opening for a Veterans Agent to work under the general guidance and direction of the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator.
The role of the Veterans Agent will be to perform and provide comprehensive veteran services to Dighton and Berkley area veterans and their dependents in compliance with M.G.L. Chapter 115. The position includes 18 hours per week in Dighton and 6 hours per week in Berkley. This is a non-benefited position.
High school diploma (or equivalent) and veteran status per M.G.L. Chapter 4, Section 7 required. Prior experience in social work, counseling, or similar activities preferred.
