Overview

A small motivated group of volunteers whose focus is to explore all multimode trail options throughout the town of Dighton and utilize community volunteers while leveraging available funding sources to develop walking, hiking, and biking trails as well as boating from the wealth of natural beauty the town of Dighton enjoys.

Vision

To align the town of Dighton with the surrounding communities' vision for a regional walking and biking trail infrastructure that will eventually connect to Taunton, Norton, and Mansfield from points north; Somerset, Fall River, and the Cape (via the South Coast Bikeway) from points south and east; and Swansea, Seekonk, and Rhode Island from points west via the planned Taunton River Trail. The Taunton River Trail, a vision originally birthed by the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD), is a planned 22-mile multi-modal pathway with a goal to connect regional communities via walking and biking trails as well as boating.

Additionally, the Dighton Trails Committee will work to identify, map, and formalize existing natural trails throughout Dighton with the help of residents, town officials, and other committees to be enjoyed by all.
